Amanda graduated in 2001 from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Across the Lifespan. She received her Master's of Science degree in Communication Disorders in 2005 from Western Kentucky University, where she was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society (GPA in top 20% of her class).
She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), licensed by the State of Georgia, a member of the Georgia Speech-Language Hearing Association (GSHA), and a member of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
She has received a Certificate of Mastery for Dr. Stanley Greenspan's "Professional Course on The Greenspan Floortime Approach" (DIR/Floortime Model). She has extensive training in phonemic awareness and reading programs such as Reading with TLC, Kendore Kingdom, and Orton-Gillingham based multi-sensory approach. She is trained in Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention program, which addresses issues concerning Oral Motor Patterns and Oral Motor Impairments. She has also recently become a PROMPT Trained therapist.
She has worked in the field of Special Education and Speech-Language Pathology since 1999, and has special interests in Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), phonemic awareness, articulation disorders, and Yoga Therapy.
She is also a wife, and a full time mother to 3 wonderfully crazy children.
